Drawing from observation is not so hard when one realizes that everything is made of straight lines and curved lines. It is very much like writing. The lines are put together into shapes of different sizes and relationships, and voila, they become objects on a table. Still Lifes have been a popular subject in art forever. They stay ’still’ to make them easier to see and to draw. This will be a fun time to play and explore, increasing our hand to eye coordination, as we capture on paper what we are looking at. We will be setting up a Still Life from objects found at the Renaissance Center, and discovering the magic of what you can do with a pencil.
